About Us
Civets are most well known for their role in the production of civets coffee- the most expensive coffee in the world made from civet scat. What is less known is that civets are one of the most ancient small carnivores to walk the planet and their very existence is threatened by their exploitation for civet coffee and other consumer products. Our objectives are to enhance current knowledge of Viverrid species (civets, genets and oyans), and to promote their protection. To do so, we conduct innovative research, deliver educational outreach activities, and support in-situ and ex-situ organisations working towards Viverrid protection goals. We are the only organisation in the world dedicated to tackling the cruel caged civet coffee industry.
